In this fast-paced, pulse-pounding thriller, former priest Ismael Niebuhr has to uncover the mystery of a deadly gang leader’s secret identity and confront his own dark past.

After the devastating suicide of his former altar boy, local priest Ismael Niebuhr has vowed to leave the accursed town of San Isidro for good. But the Skulls, a dangerous gang, and their leader the Mime King have other plans for him.
They stalk him day and night, asking the same terrifying question: “Who?”
Desperate to escape, Ismael tries to keep the gang’s threats a secret. But when his church is burned down, and a heart attack almost kills him, the priest realizes he’s facing the worst nightmare of his life. When his second attempt to run away ends up in a fatal shooting, it becomes clear the only way out is through.
To do this, the priest needs the help of Abraham Pérez, the chief of police, and an old friend who he hasn’t spoken to in years. But Ismael and Abe share more than a broken friendship. A dark secret lies between them, and it seems it’s all connected with the Skulls.
Now, as they uncover the truth, Ismael and Abraham begin to fear they might not be allies, but mortal enemies fated to kill each other.

Christian Nava

I write psychological thrillers and horror novels that try to follow in the steps of giants such as Stephen King and Thomas Harris. And I strive to be named one day in the same breath as Gillian Flynn, Paula Hawkins, or Mark Edwards.

My influences include movies like Jacob’s Ladder, Rosemary’s Baby, and Hereditary, as well as the Silent Hill video game series.

While SKELETONS IN THE RAIN is my only work available on Amazon, you can also read (for free) my latest horror novel, THE CRACKS IN THE LABYRINTH, on Wattpad.

I live in Asturias, Spain, with my wife, our son, and two cacti. With your help, I hope I can write full-time before 2021.
